High Voltage Testing

Staffed with highly experienced professionals who provide accurate, high voltage testing services and results.  Testing is performed on extruded and laminar type cables, straight and transition joints, terminations, and associated equipment.  CTL can perform qualification “Type Tests” on cables rated up to 230 kV.

Test equipment includes:
• AC voltage up to 500 kV  • DC voltage up to 500 kV  • Impulse and surge voltage up to 1000 kV  • High frequency up to 2000 Hz—150 kV  • Low frequency (0.1 Hz) up to 32 kV to ground  • Partial Discharge detectors  • Cable Aging Facilities
